In plain words
Isn't that flour mill better? In this body that has life, you put in one thing and another comes out. If we serve ourselves mango pickle and eat it, it is digested by evening. The same mango pickle, kept in a jar, stays unspoiled for a year. Isn't that jar far better than this jar?
the body made of the five elements is frail; when it will be left, no one knows; they have set its limit at a hundred years, but do not trust that word in your heart; in childhood, or in the prime of youth, or in old age, or in extreme old age, in a village, in a forest, or in the midst of water, where it will be left, no one knows; death is certain for man; while the body is there, to become wise and to know oneself is the principle of Dharma, consider it: this is the true path, the word of Śrī Sāī!
What is this body of ours? We are not this body.
A hovel of filth, a servant's basket wasting with disease, a tuber born to move about, a thornbush that cannot swim the sea of worldly life, a quiver of arrows: rise and look! Whenever we think of it, this body as lasting, do not trust it, O mind! Take refuge at the feet of Hari.
The scholar keeps thinking, ‘I am one who has studied everything, one who knows all the books.’
I have read the books, I have looked fully into all the śāstras, I have mastered peerless arts of learning, you say: why such pride? Your two hands it cannot fold to worship the Paramātma with Bhakti, this present learning, all of it, is worthless learning, see, O man!
