In plain words
If you strengthen Prema, there will be no hatred at all. Hatred comes only when there is a sense of difference. When you recognise, ‘You and I are one’, how could one come to hate another! No one should have envy and hatred, desire, anger and the rest, my dear ones! Prema is God, God is Prema. “With a mind rejoicing in Prema, say Rāma, Rāma, Rām…” Prema is the great boon God has granted to man. You can put a price on things, but you cannot put a price on Prema, saying it is this much or that much. So develop Prema! Developing it alone is not enough: share Prema! When you spend your life giving your Prema to another and receiving their Prema in turn, evil qualities such as hatred, envy and Ahaṅkāra cannot come near you. You know how people draw a line they call the ‘Lakṣmaṇa Rekhā’. Once that line is drawn, not even the smallest insect can cross it and get inside. In just the same way, where there is Prema, no evil quality of any kind can enter. However many people you share Prema with, it only goes on growing; it never dwindles. All the people in the world are God's children! Everyone has an equal right to God's property. Everyone must share that ‘property’. Whatever else you forget, you must never forget God. Everything in this world comes today and goes tomorrow. But Prema is something that comes and grows; it is not something that goes. Develop such Prema for God! With faith in God, do nāmasmaraṇa without ceasing. Every day we speak so many words. Do the sacred words ‘Rāma, Kṛṣṇa…’ not come to us? Surely they come. If we remember those divine Names even once, all our worries and hardships are removed.
To be born is a worry; to stay on the earth, a worry; family life is a worry; death, a worry; all of childhood is a worry; old age is a worry; to live is a worry; ruin, a worry; all one's actions are a worry; hardships are a worry; joy is a worry: a strange worry! The Bhakti of Sai, which drives away every worry, take it up, O people, now at least, with Prema overflowing!
