Passage 12

In plain words

Put that too to good use; only then will immortality be yours. So long as sacrifice is absent in man, only anṛtatva comes to him. Anṛtatva means false. Amṛtatva means everlasting. That itself they called immortality. How is immortality gained? What is the way to immortality? Removal of immorality is the only way to immortality. When you remove kāma, krodha, lobha and moha, all of these, immortality comes. Without that, if you say, "I want immortality," how will it come? There is water in this vessel.

Anything can be filled into a vessel that holds nothing; this vessel, filled with all sorts of things, can it become empty? unless the vessel is empty, can good deeds be filled into it on earth?

It cannot be. You have filled your heart with all sorts of things. You can fill anything into a vessel with nothing in it. Only then can you fill yourself completely with divinity. There is no room to put even a single drop into this vessel. They have filled it all full with worldly worries. That worry, this worry: how many worries man has!

Being born is a worry, living on earth is a worry, family life is a worry, death is a worry, all of childhood is a worry, old age is a worry, living is a worry, ruin is a worry, all actions are a worry, hardships are a worry, joy is a worry, a strange worry.

How will a man who has all these worries find joy? Man worries over everything. If a wedding has to be held, worry. If income must come, worry. Over everything he does nothing but worry. When your whole life is filled with worry alone, where will you find joy? A most impure life. Even after taking up so sacred a human birth, we lead an impure life.
