In plain words
Into a head that holds nothing, anything can be put; a head filled with all sorts of things cannot be filled; will the skull filled with the teachings of Kali be emptied? Unless the skull is emptied, can good deeds be filled into it here on earth!
If there is water in this vessel and you want to fill it with milk, you must first pour out the water. In the same way, only when we put away the bad qualities, evil feelings and evil thoughts in us do we come near to divinity. So what we must do is put away evil feelings.
There is no path beyond Prema
The principle of Kṛṣṇa is the principle of Prema itself! What is Prema? Only what goes with the principle of God becomes Prema; what goes with the principle of Prakṛti is not Prema, it becomes attachment. Today, in the name of Prema, human beings are experiencing attachment. They speak the name of Prema, but what they experience is nothing but attachment! They have put the burqa of Prema over attachment, you see! In humanness we see only forms and names, dress and speech, but we do not try to recognise purity of feeling.
Do all green birds talk like parrots? Do the worms that crawl over flowers become bees? Does a donkey covered in a tiger's skin itself become a tiger? Does a pig grown as fat as an elephant become an elephant?
No, no, no. These are only outer disguises, not their true forms. So if you want the vision of your own true form, you must take off all the outer disguises. Today the whole world is filled with just this kind of disease. If this disease is to be cured, we must gain the pure principle of Prema. There is no path beyond this Prema. If this Prema is to stay, we must first conquer selfishness and Ahaṅkāra.
