Passage 14

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Embodiments of Prema! Foreigners who have come from many countries! Though you face many hardships and troubles, you take no account of them at all, and though there are no conveniences of any kind in this Prasanthi Nilayam, you go on spending your life here with great patience so as to experience great Ānanda. This is great tapas! This is a sādhana! It is by this very sādhana that your lives are being shaped into holy ones. Here, whoever's face you look at, a smile is dancing on it. Not even in their own homes do they experience so much Ānanda. The cause of this is the Prema they have for Swami! Spending thousands upon thousands, giving up every comfort and convenience, they lie even on the floor in this shed full of discomforts and contemplate Swami. The people of Bhārata who see this sight ought to feel great shame. However many conveniences the people of Bhārata have, look at their faces and they are castor-oil faces. They always look grave and gloomy. These people, though they have so many discomforts, go on spending their life in Ānanda.

Along with unity, practice too is most necessary

Embodiments of Prema! For one who has filled his heart with the feeling of God, wherever he goes there is Ānanda! God is right there with them.

Be he in the forest or be he in the sky, be he in the town or in the village, be he on the hilltop or in midstream, in his heart he never forgets You, Sai.

Wherever they may be, God dances in their hearts. Human birth has come in order to attain God. So we must regard it as a holy life.
