In plain words

Be it in the forest, be it in the sky, be it in the town, be it in the village, be it on a hilltop, be it in the middle of the river, God alone is the refuge of the one who has no refuge.

Only those who have recognised the principle of God understand this Satya. Above all, all the young people of today must cultivate good qualities. You are all children of God. God Himself said, ‘An eternal part of My very Self has become the jīva in the world of the living.’ So we must follow God's qualities and live as God lives. Only when you feel, ‘We are a part of God’, will you come to good. As long as you think, ‘I am the son of such-and-such a person, the brother of so-and-so, the brother-in-law of so-and-so’, you will remain just so-and-so. Only when you recognise, ‘I am a part of God’, will you understand the principle of the Ātma.

Embodiments of Prema! You are all good children. All of you are children as precious as gold. But your surroundings spoil you somewhat, and food too spoils you somewhat. If your friends are good, they tell you good things. If they are not good, they tell you bad things and put bad thoughts into you. Tell me your company, I shall tell you what you are. If you tell Me what kind of friends you have joined, I can tell you what kind of person you are. So all of you too must keep company with good friends.

From good company, freedom from attachment; from freedom from attachment, freedom from delusion; from freedom from delusion, the unmoving principle; from the unmoving principle, Jīvanmukti.

Do not listen to the ‘nuisance’ talk of others and make your life a ‘nuisance’. Join good company and earn a good name. Be good, do good, see good. This is the way to God. Only when you are like this will you understand Divinity.

Embodiments of Prema! You must shape your life into a Rāmāyaṇa. If anyone asks you, ‘Where is God?’, you must say, ‘He is right within me, in the form of the Ātma.’ The Ātma itself is you. There is nothing higher than the Ātma. This very thing they call ‘consciousness’. Follow the Ātma within you. Put crazy notions far from you. When they come, do not brood over them at all. As you live your life in this world, seeing many sights with your eyes and hearing many things with your ears, bad feelings will keep coming. You have six enemies: kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada and matsara. These six keep leading you down the wrong path. Satya, Dharma, Śānti, Prema and Ahiṃsā alone are our good friends. Grow in friendship with them. If you make friends with good people, you become ‘good boys’. Otherwise you turn into ‘bad boys’. Earn a good name. Bring a good name to your parents too. Your parents place great hope in you. So make them happy. Bow your head to their command. Only then will you be blessed and holy.
