Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

It burns to ashes in a moment even sins as big as mountains. You must become worthy of that grace. You must become worthy of Prema. You must become worthy of that divine bond of kinship. At such a time, you can make amends for any sin whatever. In this Kali age, if you act with the right hand, the results come with the left. You need not wait for some distant day, for some other birth. There is no saying in what form it will come, at what time it will come, in what state it will come.

Whether you are in the forest or in the sky, in the town or in the village, on a hill or in midstream, Sāī will never forget you in His heart.

Students! Wherever you may be, He does not let go of you. You must earn such Prema. You must strive to receive such kindness. That is the great sādhana you must achieve. Wealth may come and may go. You may take many births too. Once it comes, it does not go. Once it goes, it does not come back. It does not go, it does not come. We must try to recognise these three well. ‘Once it comes, it does not go’: what is that? That is Jñāna. Jñāna came, and went. In truth, that is not Jñāna. Once Jñāna has come, it does not go again. The second: once it has gone, it does not come again. That is Ajñāna. ‘It neither goes nor comes’: that is the Prema of the Divine. This is not something that comes, nor something that goes. Once it enters your heart, that is enough. Students must recognise these three well. Bhakti for a while, indifference for a while: you should not be like this. This is not Bhakti at all. This is only Ajñāna, which comes and goes! What comes and goes is only Ajñāna! That itself is Ahaṅkāra. Ahaṅkāra comes and goes.

Develop in this birth the gain you have received through the merit of past births

When riches come, even the Lord of Kailāsa the sinner defies as he goes about; the moment his riches are spent, God comes into his sight. I tell you the plain truth.
