Passage 2

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

We think, “That fellow is talking, this fellow is saying something.” But there is no difference of ‘that fellow’ and ‘this fellow’; all are one! All that we see is our own reflection! Every form you see is your own reflection! Whatever illness comes to you, it is your own reaction! All that you experience is your own reflection, reaction and resound!

‘Education’ and ‘educare’

So many thousands have gathered here. But what is in the heart of every one of them is one and the same! By heart is meant not the ‘physical heart’ but the ‘spiritual heart’. But today many cannot bring themselves to believe in this ‘spiritual heart’. Today you are studying many subjects.

Having read all kinds of learning and grown very clever, the dull-witted one does not know himself in his own mind; however much he has read, whatever his standing, the base man cannot give up his bad qualities; reading and reading again, he gets only argument and debate, and never attains full Jñāna; why read every kind of learning only to die?! Learn the learning that knows no death.

These are not the studies we should be pursuing. All these are studies of the physical world: ‘education’. They are learnt from teachers. The studies we pursue, the words we speak, the lectures we give: all of them are merely outward and worldly. Within us there is one thing that is the basis of them all. ‘Educare’ is what concerns that. It is not something we can see. The word ‘educare’ means ‘to draw out from within’. Where is Satya? It is in our own heart. You must attain it by effort. That is ‘educare’. Where is ‘peace’? Is it outside? No, no. Outside, all kinds of disturbances are going on because people fight with one another. Outside, all is Pieces, Pieces! Peace is within us. In the same way, Prema is not something we can see. It too is within our own heart.
