In plain words
Embodiments of Prema!
The Vice-Chancellor, the former Vice-Chancellor, the Central Trust's Secretary and two students have presented very beautiful things in lovely words. Wherever you look in this world, wondrous sights and joyful things knock at the heart, wake it and fill it with joy. Our students too, letting their talents shine, have been gladdening the heart with their games and songs and their joyful displays. Whatever the students take up, they do it to please the heart, not for a passing pleasure. At such a time I need not teach the students at length about games and songs. Students must make the heart grow through Prema and give the people joy and an example to follow. From the time a man is born, the thoughts he thinks and all the work he does belong to education, every one of them! Today, wherever you look, people are debating education, but true education is seen nowhere. They read books, write what is in them in examinations, get pass marks and take the title of educated men. But what education is, and which education is eternal Satya, nobody knows.
Having read all the learning there is and become very clever, the dull-witted man does not know himself in his own mind; however much he studies, whatever state he is in, the base man cannot give up his bad qualities.
This cannot be called education. Education means Jñāna. Jñāna does not mean building up physical, worldly, material cleverness. True education is just this: what makes Ānanda grow in the inner being and makes it shine.
