In plain words

Knowing no learning of any kind in the world, the races of birds and the beasts have taken up the highest rule and have learned how to live; man, though he has intelligence, has strayed from this intelligence and goes on living: has man not this sense?

Wondrous, and for the three worlds sanctifying; sickles to the creeper of worldly life; true friends; to the forest of the sages the springtime: the stories of Lord Viṣṇu.

How wondrous are the wonders of creation! In no world and in no age are the forms, the intelligence, the understanding and the knowledge of any two people the same. Materialists widely spread the multiplicity of unity: this is the natural way of the world. But people who proclaim the unity in multiplicity are very rare. When the enquiry is made with a pure vision and a vast understanding, the unity in diversity is revealed. In the worldly way, the moral way and the scientific way, we keep recognising the food and the pastimes of every man as one. From the king to the farmer, from the pauper to the millionaire, unity holds to the truth that birth and death are the same. Without falling in the least under the sway of race, religion, colour, class, country, time and circumstance, the Kaṭhopaniṣad teaches the truth called unity. That every body is like a chariot, that in this chariot the rider is present as the embodiment of the Ātma, and that the actions for this sacred body, too, are actions of evenness: this brings about evenness.

In man there are two kinds of principle. One is animality. The second is divinity. Falling under this wicked band of six inner enemies, lust, anger, delusion, greed, pride and envy, man makes no good use of the station, the course, the mind and the wealth that are God's gift; he turns them onto the wicked path and becomes wicked, and in many ways, through rashness with the fourfold wealth, he sinks lower and lower into degradation.
