In plain words
Money itself has become God, arrogance itself religion, selfishness itself has become the seat of Buddhi, ego has become the fashion, desires have become beauty, Dharma has come to nothing on the earth; compassion too has burnt away, courtesy has sunk low, deceit itself has become the lustre of life, Prema and affection have become the diseases of lust; the Śrutis have gone the way of the Godāvarī; life has become a burden, minds and their courses have gone astray, what is called gratitude has flown off on the wind; in Kali, this is the qualification of learning! How strange, how very strange! What shall I say of life? Humanity, what shall I say, has gone up in ashes.
When the women all go off to do jobs, where are the housewives to finish the household tasks? When husband and wife both go off to offices, who are the housewives to set the homes in order? When they go off to schools to teach other people's boys, who are the mothers to teach their own boys? When they take up books and go off like the men, who are the women to keep the kitchen in order? Though the trouble that comes from money is cleared, how much is lacking in the home! Look for happiness, and it is ever a zero for the woman who holds a salaried post.
Dear students! Teachers! Lovers of learning!
Bhāratīyas are devoted to Dharma. Justice itself is the home ground of Bhāratīyas. It is students, broad-hearted and lovers of Śānti, who are the heirs of Satya and Dharma; with the strength and ability it needs, they must strive at speaking Satya and practising Dharma.
