In plain words

Winning renown in land after land and continent after continent, the motherland that gave birth to great souls; driving out the warriors of the West, the battlefield that won its freedom; winning great fame for its learning, the land of Bhārata that showed its brilliance; in music, letters, the sciences and all learning, the divine land that showed the power of the intellect; wondrous with its arts of painting: born in this land of Bhārata, to guard the treasure of Dharma of Mother Bhārata the whole responsibility is yours, citizens!

Embodiments of the divine Ātma!

From ancient times, through the power of its spiritual principles, the land of Bhārata has been bringing … peace and security to all countries. That is why, then and now, 'Lōkā samastā sukhinō bhavantu' has been the goal of the people of Bhārata. Creation is nothing but the manifestation of Īśvara. Its very name is Prakṛti. Every living being born in this Prakṛti should, quite naturally, have the very nature of Prakṛti too. Man is the one who has taken form for the purpose of making Īśvara manifest. We have taken on such a divine and noble humanness, yet, forgetting divinity, we toil only for the physical, which is impermanent and transient, and so we have had to fall prey to much unrest. In this world, what the supreme goal of life is does not become clear to every living being. Many people do not have the feeling that it should become clear. In māṭikō …, in just some one person, this feeling arises. That itself is the first step to the highest good. A bellyful of food, an eyeful of sleep, clothes enough for the body, a houseful of children: this is it; is there any other … beyond this? So many people think. That is true. That is needed too. But with this alone humanness does not reach its fullness.
