In plain words
Rāma said: My own country is supremely dear to Me. He said, 'Jananī janmabhūmiśca svargādapi garīyasi.' Because my mother is ugly and someone else's mother is beautiful, can one call that woman mother? Ugly though she may be, your mother is your mother. To set our feeling of mother on foreign countries because they glitter with wealth and riches is a feeling that is wholly artificial.
This is my motherland, this my mother tongue, this my … Spoiling it, unable to speak it, is there anywhere on earth such a living corpse!
No. No, students! You must recognise the greatness of Bhārata. You need not criticise any religion. Trust your country. You must make sacrifices for your country. Nourish your country. In today's students love of the country has become nil. Love of the body has grown. The country and the body are the image and its reflection. The country and the body are inseparably bound. They depend on each other. We believe in this sacred oneness.
The excellence of Bhāratīya culture:
What teaches the unity in diversity is Bhārata. So a man must first look to his own honour and the honour of his country. What every person who is born first recognises is his mother and his father. What else can a person recognise who cannot recognise his mother and father? So, just as every person who is born recognises his mother and father, every man must first recognise his country and his country's culture. We must understand the culture of the country. Bhāratīya culture is supreme. It is ideal. It gives the Ānanda of the Ātma. If you cannot recognise such a culture, what is the use of all the studying? You are getting acquainted with books, but you have not let those books enter into you at all. You are putting the whole of the books into your heads. The head and the book, the two, are becoming one. Where is the practice?
Develop trikaraṇa śuddhi:
For that very reason: manasyekaṃ, vacasyekaṃ, karmaṇyekaṃ mahātmanām. Students! You must develop trikaraṇa śuddhi.
