In plain words
In our Bhārata there are so many leaders. But what use is it that they are there?! They all talk, but they do not act. They may say a crore of things, and not do a single one! But Subhas Chandra Bose was not a leader of that kind. He was a man given wholly to the country. Today no one remembers such a man. That is My grief.
Subhas Chandra Bose's elder brother was named Sarat Chandra Bose. His daughter, Lalita Bose, came to Prasanthi Nilayam and stayed a whole month, very happily. She came to Whitefield too and stayed a few days. Then she came with Me to Kodaikanal; she came to Ooty; for three months she went about with Me wherever I went. She used to play the harmonium in the bhajans. All the time she was here, she had no other thought than the constant remembrance of Sai's Name. “My uncle was born in this holy land of Bhārata, but he could not stay here,” she said, and grieved deeply. She was very glad to have been born in this country, and that she at least had been able to have Swami's darśan.
Svarājya is not what matters; svārājya is what we need
Subhas Chandra Bose toiled hard for the country; he showed Prema; he showed forbearance; he became a guide.
“This is my motherland, this is my dear mother tongue, this is my faith”: one who, saying so and beating his breast, cannot declare it: is there such a living corpse on this earth?
One who has no love for his country is no different from one who is dead. Only one who upholds his country's name truly counts as alive. Today the people of Bhārata have won svatantrya. But this is svatantrya, not svātantrya. What concerns only the body, the mind and the Buddhi is svatantrya; what concerns the Ātma is svātantrya.
