Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

‘Yato vāco nivartante aprāpya manasā saha’: in this way Tyāgarāja went on describing that in You are qualities beyond the reach of speech.

Līlā saṅkīrtana is purely this: playing out in dance the waves of God's holy līlās, experiencing those līlās oneself and staying absorbed in them; that is līlā saṅkīrtana.

Then, bhāva saṅkīrtana. Rādhā, the devotee of Kṛṣṇa, alone experienced it to the full; she was absorbed in the bhāva of God and merged her own nature in the nature of God. In these five bhāvas, śānta bhāva, sakhya bhāva, vātsalya bhāva, anurāga bhāva and madhura bhāva, she lived out her life. So the holy bhāva of Rādhā and of Mīrā took shape as this bhāva saṅkīrtana.

Nāma saṅkīrtana. Caitanya alone kept to this. ‘All names are Your names alone! No world without Your name, no world without Your form, is to be seen in this universe’: in that feeling, at all times and in every state, absorbed in oneness, Caitanya went on singing the Name of God.

He who bears every form, the tranquil; who bears every name, the auspicious; whose form is Saccidānanda, the One without a second: Satyam, Śivam, Sundaram.

“All the beauty of this world is Your names and forms alone, O God!”: seeing every object, every atom, every particle too, as the very form of God, Caitanya crossed over by the Name.

Bhajan is guṇa, līlā, bhāva and nāma saṅkīrtana blended into one

Now, by good fortune, where in those ages each one followed a path of one kind, for those who live in Prasanthi Nilayam to experience all four is a great good fortune.
