In plain words
Bearing every form, the tranquil one; bearing every name, the auspicious one; the true, the auspicious, the beautiful: Sathya Sai, the great Lord.
Embodiments of Prema! Bhārata is a most sacred land. In this land, forbearance itself is our beauty.
In the supremely holy land of Bhārata forbearance itself is our beauty; among all vows, the one that has won the brightest lustre, great truthfulness of character, is itself the hardest tapas; if you ask what feeling is sweetest in our land, what is worthier of honour than the feeling for a mother? The code that held honour greater than life, that code of our land they have burnt to ashes, and, seeking out the codes of foreign lands, they have given us today, in haste, the naked sword called strange freedom. Ah, what shall I say of the rule of Bhārata! As the elephant does not know its own strength, so have our people of Bhārata become today.
Precisely because the elephant does not know its own strength, it yields to the mahout, a simple man who knows nothing and has no learning; when he tells it to sit, it sits, and when he tells it to rise, it rises.
