Passage 18

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Without it, we ourselves would not be. So it exists. All the five elements are the form of God. So we must not waste any element. So if every man, with this feeling, goes on practising sādhana in his daily life, he can surely reach divinity. But because of certain bonds he has chosen, he cannot attain that divinity. This bondage is a negative. Liberation is a positive. So you must make the effort to change it into the positive. There is a lock, there is a key. Put this key in the lock. Turn left side, it becomes open. Turn right side. Lock. Same lock, same key, turning is difference; that is why this whole world is nothing but divinity. This thing called the mind is the key. Turn it towards God. It becomes positive. Turn it towards Prakṛti. It turns into bondage. With this in view it has been said, ‘mana eva manuṣyāṇāṃ kāraṇaṃ bandha-mokṣayoḥ’.

To reach divinity is itself paropakāra (para+upa+kara)

Some day or other we must get free of this bondage; there is no avoiding it. Even if you do not get free of it, it will itself leave you and go. Every man who is born must die. But:

the Eternal One, who has neither death nor birth, without beginning, middle or end, the beginningless One: He is not born, does not die, is not slain; in the form of the Ātma He shines everywhere.

He abides as the onlooker of all. The Ātma has no birth. It has no death. First of all we must surely recognise such a principle. The day one attains divinity, one becomes worthy of the Prema of all. There is no principle beyond that Prema. That is why: Love is GOD, Live in LOVE. So only when you recognise well the principle of Satya and Prema does your life become worthwhile.
