In plain words
The Eternal, who knows neither death nor birth, free of beginning, middle and end, the One without beginning, not born, not dying, not slain, dwells shining everywhere in the form of the Ātma.
What Is Brahman?
What does Brahma mean? Brahma is not the one with four heads. Brahma means the One who pervades everything: that is Brahma. Wherever you look, it is Brahma alone. This expansion love is God. That which says “my body”: contraction love is death. “My body” belongs to one single body alone. We must develop expansion love. That itself is: love is God, live in love. We must not think narrowly. My children, my relatives: in this way we must not go apart. One small example. In mathematics, if you set down 1+1+1+1, it comes to 4. As you go on adding numbers, it keeps on growing. But Ātma + Ātma + Ātma... It becomes the Ātma alone. The Ātma becomes only one. This is spiritual mathematics. 1+1+1... is worldly mathematics. It grows and it shrinks. Take one from eight and it becomes seven. Add one to eight and it becomes nine. It shrinks; it grows. I + I = I is itself the form of the Ātma. The very first name of this Ātma is I; that itself is Ahaṃ brahmāsmi. Aham means “I” itself. This “I” is a name of God. How are we to recognise such an Aham? We must follow a life of Satya. All that is in the world is nothing but Satya. For us there is no such thing at all as Asatya. To your eye it looks that way, but seen with another vision it is not Asatya at all. In the whole world the fault is only in the vision; there is no fault in creation. If you wear blue glasses, everything looks blue. If you put on red glasses, it looks red. The fault is only in your glasses, not in your eyes. Everyone's vision is one and the same. Creation is one alone. This creation is the very form of God. Sarvaṃ khalvidaṃ brahma. All is the very form of Brahman. We must regard all as Brahman. We honour all as Brahman. We love all as Brahman.
