That bad result comes to you yourself. If not today, it will hurt you later on. So you must live happily, neither suffering yourself nor making others suffer. You must respect everyone. Only then will everyone respect us. Give Prema and receive Prema. To nourish such good qualities, we must set our studies right.

He studies every kind of learning and becomes a man of great discernment, yet the dull-witted one does not know himself in his mind; however much he studies, whatever his state, the base man cannot give up his bad qualities; study as he may, delving deep, he gains only argument and debate, and never attains full Jñāna. Why study every kind of learning only to die? One must study the learning that has no death.

All these worldly studies are negative studies. They say the washerman is better than the educated man. When we give clothes to the washerman, we write the list down in a notebook. What learning has he studied?! So we must not be satisfied with these worldly studies. Along with them, we must study positive learning too. We must study the learning that has to do with helping others. Only then do we become pure.
