They do not care even for their parents. Then Lokāssamastā sukhino bhavantu is mere idle talk. First of all we must make the nucleus family broad. We must be a joint family. In this joint family there is so much progress for us. There are so many excellent paths. So many excellent ways of thinking develop. In those days this joint family worked to uphold honour and dignity. Today's nuclear family is of no use at all. Mere show: Twinkle Twinkle little star how I wonder what you are; this is what we keep showing. With these masquerades they are deceiving the whole world. This is not what we must learn. We must set our society right. We must set our country right. We must set our family right. If each one sets right their own family and society, how easily the country will be set right. Today these people have no sense of responsibility at all about the family.
Students! First of all, look after your family. Keep your family standing in honour. First of all, satisfy your mother and father. When that very strength is not in you, what use is it to study any number of subjects?
Having read all learning and become most clever, the dull-witted man still does not know himself; however much he studies, however he may be, the base man cannot give up his vices. If you study searchingly, it is only argument; he never attains full Jñāna. Why study and study, only to die? One must study the learning that knows no death. Though they have studied and gained M.A.s and B.A.s, though they be great people of renown, though they have wealth and are given to good charity, though they be virtuous ones who won fame on earth, though they have long life and health without end, though they be people of perfect strength, though, ever performing japa and tapas, they be Brahmins who have recited the Vedas, none of them can ever equal the devotees.
