In plain words
Prakṛti is a limb of the Paramātma!
Embodiments of Prema! You must not neglect the body. Nor, on that account, must you build up excessive Prema for the body. Place all your Prema on the Paramātma!
The body is made of the five elements; the body must fall some day; the indweller is free of all ill; consider it, and for the indweller births and deaths, the marks of the fetters of moha, are not there; see it truly: that indweller is the God of gods, the very Ātma, if you weigh it in your mind!
What is the body like? It is not holy. So long as the indweller is within, it is holy! If the indweller leaves this body,
a filthy hovel, a basket of service wasting with disease, a tuber that stirs once it is born, a thorn bush that cannot cross the sea of birth, a quiver of arrows; rise and look; whenever we think of it, never believe this body to be lasting, O Manas! Take refuge at the feet of Hari.
You must take refuge at the feet of Hari. That alone is your chief duty. Make use of all the things there are in the world! Look on all these only as steps that make Prema grow. Beyond that, give no room to distinctions: this is sorrow, this is happiness; this is sin; this fellow is a hater, this fellow is a friend. If anyone abuses you, think, ‘In that form God is abusing me in this way’! That form and this form are both impermanent! What is in that form and what is in this form are both permanent! We must keep on fostering such a feeling of the Ātma. Only then is there Śānti for us. That is the tapas we must do. Rather, giving up food and drink, merely standing on one leg and suffering: that is not tapas. Nourish the body well! Build up strength in the body! But we must dedicate the strength of the body to God. That is the duty. Forgetting his duty, man today sinks into karma and wastes his birth.
