In plain words

In those days the Pāṇḍavas believed: First God, next world, last I. They placed God in front, placed the world next, and pushed the Ahaṅkāra that says 'I' still further back. But what did the Kauravas do? They held: First I, next world, last God. That is why they met defeat. They found no Ānanda at all. For those who have drawn divinity close, Ānanda is always full.

The heart itself is the dwelling of God

How did our forefathers worship God? They welcomed Satya itself as God before their eyes, held their heart itself to be God's throne, and worshipped with the flower called tyāga. Only through such a distinctive prayer could the great souls of that time attain divinity. You too must offer such a sacred prayer and install God on the altar of your heart. Who is meant by Bhagavān? ‘Bha’ means light, ‘ga’ means spreading, ‘vān’ means one who is able. The one who spreads light everywhere is Bhagavān. He has no form whatever. He is subtler than the atom. What form can you fix for such a God? The Ātma that is in you is the very form of God. “You are in Brahman, and Brahman is in you.” Between you and Brahman there is no difference at all. Only because you do not believe in this principle free of difference do you fall prey to sorrow. No one can lay down that God's form is like this or like that. All forms are God's alone.

Abiding in Satya, He created all; in Satya all creation subsides; search, and what place is there without the glory of Satya? this is pure sattva: look, sirs!
