In plain words
There is no bad anywhere in the world, only good
Children! You read many kinds of books. But however many you read, the letters in all of them stay one and the same. People write huge books with just 26 letters. Many lawyers go about carrying huge books. The basis of all of them is the letters, isn't it! In the same way, God alone is the fundamental basis of everything: of our health, our joy, our happiness, our comfort! God alone is the root of good and bad! In truth, bad is not seen anywhere in the world. Wherever you look, what you see is only good! But, unable to understand that good rightly, you take it to be bad. It seems bad only because of a ‘difference of time’. The good food we eat this evening turns into excrement by daybreak. If we eat a fruit today, tomorrow it turns into excrement. We must recognise the oneness of this good and bad. Divinity lies right there. God is in everything. There is no place at all where God is not. No one has the authority to say that God is here and not there. What is everywhere is one, and that is God. But people imagine many forms and names for God and throw the world into confusion. The root cause of this ‘confusion’ is the bond with the body. We must distance ourselves from it to some extent. We pursue all these studies for this very purpose. The day this bond falls away and oneness is seen, that very day everything becomes one.
In my sight all are one! So I am always full of Ānanda!
Religions differ, the goal is one; the kinds of cloth differ, the substance is one; the species of beings differ, the jīva is one.
So many beings have come here and sat down. But in truth only the bodies are different; in these bodies there is one God alone. So whoever we see, we must regard them as embodiments of God, and love them.
