In plain words

‘O man asleep in Ajñāna! Arise, arise, arise. Light the lamp called Prajñāna. Drive your Ajñāna far away. Experience the divine Ātma yourself,’ it says. Ajñāna lies only within you. This Ajñāna comes only from worldly desires. Thinking ‘I, mine’ is in itself the great sorrow. Thinking ‘not mine’ is in itself happiness. Nothing is mine. Who am I? I myself do not know who I am. How can I say ‘mine’? This is a delusion. There is no ‘mine’. There is no ‘I’. The attachment of ‘mine’ and ‘I’ is itself the root cause of all sorrows. To drive these two away, we must foster the principle of Prema. Whatever the circumstances, we must not let go of Prema. Through Prema we can achieve anything at all. Through this Prema, faith is gained. God is the very Embodiment of Prema. Love is God-Live in love. We must try to know this Prema. We do not find this Prema with anyone other than God alone. A little or a lot, selfishness has crept into them. In God not the slightest selfishness is to be seen. What is the reason? There is no ‘mine’ or ‘I’ there. All is I alone. There would have to be a second thing called ‘mine’, wouldn't there! That which is, is only One. ‘Ekaṃ sat viprā bahudhāvadanti.’ Many people speak of it in many ways. Put a one, then put zeros after it, and it turns into millions upon millions. Without the one, however many zeros you put, they are all just zeros. That one alone is the hero. That one is God Himself. Hero becomes zero, if he forgets God. Forget the Hero, and all is just zero. We must not forget God, the Hero. He alone is the support of this whole world. That very Prema is the root cause.

In deserts empty of Prema, so that the shoots of Prema may grow, with a surge of Prema, pouring down a shower of Prema's nectar, so that rivers of Prema may flow, play the song of Your flute, O Kṛṣṇa!

So the Gopīs said.
