Today many people in the world are suffering many troubles. You know how anxious the passengers of the aeroplane that was recently hijacked were. Prayer alone is the remedy for all these troubles! There is nothing in the world that prayer cannot achieve. Prayer melts even a hard heart. So pray wholeheartedly, “Lokāssamastāḥ sukhino bhavantu”. Not only you, your family, your relatives and friends. Pray that the people of all countries may be well.
Prema gives and forgives
Embodiments of Prema! What you must above all develop is Prema alone. If Prema alone is there, there is no room at all for hatred. In those days the gopīs too said:
In deserts empty of Prema, so that shoots of Prema may grow, with the rapture of Prema, so that a rain of the nectar of Prema may pour, so that rivers of Prema may flow, will You not play the flute! Kṛṣṇa! Will You not make music!
In the fields of the heart that are without Prema you must sow the seed of Prema and water it with the water of Prema. You must shower the rain of Prema and make the stream of Prema flow. You must share your Prema with all. What you must do in this new year is this: you must develop Prema that is pure, steady and selfless. Only because you bring your Prema into worldly things do you fall into many tangles. Prema gives and forgives; selfishness takes and forgets. So we do not want Selfish Love. Selfish Love, like the stench of fish, is unbearable.
