In plain words
Once your wealth is wiped out, once your position is lost, not one of them will so much as look at you and say good bye. In a Prakṛti such as this, are these things lasting for us? Nothing is lasting. Only the principle of Prema in our heart is lasting. Through this very Prema all become kin.
Prema Alone Draws Everyone
If we draw Prema alone close to us, we draw the whole world close to us. Why have these people come here today from so many countries, from so many regions? When you inquire into it well, you understand its inner meaning well. Something that is not in your home, not in your country, not in your family, not in your state, not in your village, some one thing, is here. That very thing is Prema, which is equal for all. For that Prema you have come here. That Prema is not in your home. It is not in your country. It is not in your village. You have come here only to gain that Prema. So we can form close bonds of kinship through Prema alone. A land without Prema is a desert. In the land called the heart there must be the principle of Prema.
In the deserts without Prema, so that the sprouts of Prema may grow, so that in the fervour of Prema the nectar-rain of Prema may pour down, so that the rivers of Prema may flow, won't You play the song of the flute — O Kṛṣṇa, won't You sing?
The gopikās prayed. This principle of Prema is in the very sound of Your flute. The principle of Prema is in Your very word. The principle of Prema dwells in Your very conduct. Your Prema is not one that longs for anything else. This Prema longs for nothing. It only gives; it does not receive.
