In plain words
Even if we do no special sādhanas in our humanness, we must make life worthwhile within the spirit of service.
Among the nine paths, the one that is equal to life itself, standing at the middle level, is service. Through this service alone the offering of the self takes place. Only when this offering of the self takes place does friendship begin. Through this friendship alone unity is won.
Śravaṇaṃ kīrtanaṃ viṣṇo smaraṇaṃ pādasevanam arcanaṃ vandanaṃ dāsyaṃ sakhyamātmanivedanam.
So believe that the supreme principle shining in all human beings is the Ātma-principle itself. Whomever you honour, to whomever you bow, you must believe that it reaches God. This is what they said in the śāstra of Bhārata: ‘Sarvajīva namaskāraṃ keśavaṃ pratigacchati.’ In the same way: Sarvajīva tiraskāraṃ keśavaṃ pratigacchati. Whomever we spurn, that too reaches Keśava, they said. So however many differences of opinion and hatreds there may be between individuals, we must regard the Ātma-principle alone as one.
