In plain words
Each one's power is just like that capacity. In all of them, the divine principle of the Ātma remains one and only one. We must make a fitting effort to behold this unity.
Hearing, singing, remembering Viṣṇu, serving His feet, salutation, worship, servitude, friendship, ātmanivedana.
People follow one path or another among these nine kinds of paths. All these hold only as long as the delusion of the body remains. These delusions belong only to those who have the delusion of the body. For those without the delusion of the body, this sādhana is not needed. ‘I myself am God. God Himself is I’: whoever has recognised this truth gives up all sādhanas. The true principle of the Ātma is one alone. That itself is conscience. That is just what I say every now and then. You are not one person but three. The one you think you are, the physical body. The one others think you are, the mental body. The one you really are, that is atma. We must make that our goal. That alone we must attain. We need not strive after this body in the least.
The body is made of the five elements; the body must fall one day or another; the indweller is free of every ill; consider: for the indweller there is no death and birth, no seal of the bonds of moha's fetters: look at the truth, the indweller himself is the God of gods; consider it in your mind: He is the very form of the Ātma.
A hovel of filth, a servant's basket wasting with disease, a tuber stirred by birth, a thornbush that cannot cross the sea of worldly life, a quiver of arrows: rise and look! Whenever we think of it, this body as lasting, do not trust it, O mind! Take refuge at the feet of Hari!
What Is True Victory?
All these keep coming and going. Wealth and gold, goods and vehicles: all of them are nothing but passing clouds. Nothing at all is permanent. Only the karmas we do are sacred.
