In plain words

There may be any amount of water beneath the boat. But if we let water into the boat, it means disaster. If the water is in the boat, it means disaster. Even though such worldly feelings enter the boat of life, when you contemplate the Name you must contemplate it purely, selflessly and silently. The Name must not be uttered for show or with Ahaṅkāra. That is why they said to follow any one of the nine kinds of path. How are we to experience it? We must utter the Name with a tranquil feeling, a pure heart and a selfless mind.

Listening, singing, remembering Viṣṇu, serving His feet, worship, salutation, service, friendship and the offering of the self.

These we must do with a sacred feeling. We must not sing just to outdo one another. We must not sing songs that make fun of others. While singing the Name, no worry should enter our heart. Whatever Name we are remembering, it is the form of that Name we must picture in our heart. That is true remembrance of the Name. In this Kali age, that is the chief breath of life. In the Kṛta age dhyāna, in the Tretā age yajña, in the Dvāpara age worship, in the Kali age remembrance of the Name: these are the paths of sādhana.

There is no easier path than remembering the Name

The Name of Hari, the Name of Hari, the Name of Hari alone; in Kali there is no other way, no other way, no other way at all.

In this Kali age there is no path easier than remembering the Name. You can remember the Name in your mind while you travel. You can remember the Name until sleep comes. Whatever work you are doing, you can remember the Name. A most sacred and easy path, in this Kali. The Kali age is a very easy one in which to cross over. In former times, hospitals to keep people healthy were nowhere to be seen. Schools and colleges for study were nowhere to be found. There were no ways of making money.
