In plain words

Whatever one's religion, whatever one's caste, one must know this tāraka mantra.

Make friends with God

Today many people call themselves devotees, yet set foot in untruth and behave against Dharma. The love they show is full of selfishness and self-interest. Seen from outside, they look good. But inside it is all impurity! For money they ruin their very lives. Such people are great sinners. We must not even look at their faces.

“Listening, singing, remembering Viṣṇu, serving His feet, worship, bowing, servitude, friendship, offering of the self”:

so they have spoken in the Bhāgavatam of the nine kinds of Bhakti. Of these, friendship is very special. Friendship is the step that comes just before the offering of the self. So you must make friends with God. That friendship alone is enough; the whole world comes into your hands. But the unfortunate are throwing away even the friendship they have. Friendship with God is not something easily had. You must earn it. You must make the friendship you have earned fruitful through fitting sādhana. You must not waste time in empty words.

By the vow of Satya the Lord of all reveals Himself

Embodiments of Prema! Today in particular you must learn to speak the truth. Satya itself is the basis of our life. Satya itself is the Paramātma made manifest. Above all, since you have come here and heard Swami's talk, it is very necessary that you bring about at least some change in your lives. Many come here from foreign lands. If only they get the time, they wait eagerly to go to Prasanthi Nilayam and have Swami's darśan. Such a chance has come to you. You must make it fruitful. Whatever the situation, do not speak untruth.
