Passage 11

In plain words

So you must not end your studies merely because you have studied and gained great degrees. You must make the effort needed to pass it on to your fellow men. From ancient times the people of Bhārata have gone on bringing renowned Śānti and security to many countries too. That is why, from then until now, the aim of the people of Bhārata has been just this: ‘May all the worlds be happy.’ All must be well. You must not bear hatred towards any person at all. What is in all is Prema alone. They said that the compassionate heart itself is the temple of God. That is why its very name is hṛdayam. So what is called your daya is precisely compassion. With that compassion in you, holding that daya, why are you handing out hatred to others? This hatred, envy: all these are demonic qualities. And the heart that has compassion is itself humanness. Every single one must be compassionate. We must change every man into an embodiment of compassion. That itself is right education. To study without such education is not humanness. If we keep sharing out hatred and envy, this has nothing to do with education. Whatever is inside us, that is what we share out to others. If there is truly nothing but Prema and compassion in you, you will share out only compassion and Prema. You must change your mind for the good. When it is a good mind, you will show only good deeds, only good sight, only good hearing, only good words, only goodness. The mind is merely like a water tank. This hearing, speech and action: all these, every one, are like taps. If you truly fill this tank with nothing but sacred water, only sacred things will come through these taps. So keep your looks good looks.

See no evil, see what is good, Talk no evil, talk what is good Hear no evil, hear what is good Think no evil, think what is good Do no evil, do what is good This is the way to GOD.
