In plain words
“Lokāḥ samastāḥ sukhino bhavantu.” Wish that all may be happy. Only then will divine Ānanda be yours. Push narrow feelings far off and develop broad ones. If anyone reviles you or hurts you, bear it in forbearance: “This is for my good.” There is no virtue greater than forbearance.
The body is of the five elements; the body must fall some day; the Dehī is free of ill; consider: for the Dehī there is no death or birth; no marks of the fetters of attachment's bonds; in truth, this Dehī is the God of gods; consider it in your mind: the Ātma in form!
In everyone the God of gods is present as the Dehī. A beggar comes to the front of your house and asks, “Bhavati bhikṣāṃ dehi.” Whom? Not you, but the Dehī in you; that is, he is asking God. Unable to recognise this truth, you think he is begging alms of you. This is ignorance; this is Ahaṅkāra. The one he asks is not you but the Dehī. The divine power within you is itself the Dehī. Without distinction of poor or great, the principle of the Ātma is in everyone. Worship that divinity with Prema. Love everyone. Your Prema must be free of selfishness, free of attachment to the body. The feeling that the body is the self is narrow. It is merely a bond between body and body. But the bond between God and you is heart to heart, Prema to Prema.
The whole world loves Swami
I sent no one an ‘invitation’. I have never had ‘invitations’ printed. Yet if so many have come here today, the reason for it is the Prema for Me. In the world some people are not worthy even of their own mother's and father's love. That I have become worthy of the Prema of so many is itself the sign of divinity. The whole world loves Me. Not only those who have come here today: there are so many crores who could not come. To be worthy of the Prema of so many is itself the proof of divinity.
