Patriotism Full of Sacrifice and Devotion to God Full of Prema Must Flow in the Student's Blood

What gives the strength to stand on one's own feet is the education of Bhārata. The education that has received the great good fortune of sacrificing even the body for the good of others is the education of Bhārata. The country that offered its all to protect the values of humanness is Bhārata. We must enquire a little into the nature of the sons and daughters of Bhārata born in so sacred a Bhārata. We are the ones who are called the children of Mother Bhārata. We must keep the welfare of Mother Bhārata in view, at least to some extent. What turns you into such kind-hearted people is the true education. Today's education develops only the power of the intellect; it does not enlarge the heart at all. Education that cannot make the heart broad is nothing but poison. When education is put only on the material path, you turn into hearts of stone. Patriotism full of sacrifice and devotion to God full of Prema: these two must flow in the student's heart, in his blood. You must make a fitting effort to bring about such a growth.

Learning gives humility; from humility comes worthiness; from worthiness, wealth; from wealth, Dharma; and from this, God.

When you cannot attain a divinity joined with humanness such as this, you not only waste your time, you make your very life impure as well.

In this supremely holy land of Bhārata forbearance itself is our beauty; among all vows, the one that shines brightest, a noble character of Satya, is itself the stern tapas. What feeling is sweeter? In our land, what is more honoured than the feeling for one's mother? ‘Honour is greater than life itself’: this code of our land they have thrown into the fire, and, searching out foreign codes, they have given to our day, in haste, the drawn dagger of a strange freedom. Alas! What shall I say? The rule of Bhārata! As the elephant does not know its own strength, so have the people of Bhārata become today.
